San Diego County products Alex Dickerson and James Needy led Double-A San Antonio to a 6-2 win at Frisco Thursday night.
Dickerson, 24, hit a grand slam homer. The right fielder out of Poway High was 2-for-5 and raised his batting average to .293. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound, left-handed-hitting Dickerson has three homers and 15 RBIs in 99 at-bats for the Missions after missing most of the season with a heel injury.
Needy, 23, held Frisco to two runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings to pick up his 10th win of the season. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound right-hander is 10-4 on the season with a 2.74 earned run average. Needy has allowed 125 hits in 141 1/3 innings with 105 strikeouts and 47 walks.
Outfielder Hunter Renfroe, the Padres first-round pick in 2013, was 2-for-5 with a double to raise his batting average to .227.
Right-handed relievers closed out the game with four scoreless innings. Luis De La Cruz (2.74 ERA) allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in his inning. Adys Portillo (2.81) struck out two in a perfect inning. R.J. Alvarez (1.14) allowed two hits with two strikeouts in his inning. John Hussey (3.80) allowed a hit with a strikeout in the ninth.
The Missions improved to 64-65 and are 28-31 in the second half of the Texas League season.
ON THE MOVE: Infielder Brooks Conrad, out of Monte Vista High, was released from by Triple-A El Paso. RHP Hector Ambriz was granted his release from El Paso. Infielder Nick Vitter was placed on short-season Single-A Eugene’s 60-day disabled list. RHP Cam Stewart was activated from Eugene’s 60-day disabled list and OF Edwin Moreno was activated from Eugene’s seven-day disabled list. LHP Jeff Ibarra placed on San Antonio’s seven-day disabled list. RHP Josh Richardson joined the Arizona Rookie Padres for a rehab assignment.

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (63-70): OKLAHOMA CITY 9, Chihuahuas 5 – Starting RHP Joe Wieland (0-1, 5.73 ERA) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings. RHP Donn Roach (5.47) allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in an inning. 2B Taylor Lindsey (.246) was 3-for-4. C Adam Moore (.282) hit a two-run double. SS Jace Peterson (.270) was 2-for-5. LF Jeff Francoeur (.293) was 2-for-5 with a RBI and finished the game on the mound, allowing an unearned run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in an inning. LHP Jason Lane (.364) was the DH and was 1-for-4 with a double.
SINGLE-A (high) LAKE ELSINORE (70-60, 30-30): Stockton 11, STORM 3 – 1B Duanel Jones (.238) hit a homer. LF Luis Domoromo (.272) was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Starting RHP Colin Rea (10-8, 4.85 ERA) allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts in three innings. RHP Joe Church (5.81) allowed a run on four hits with five strikeouts in three innings.
SINGLE-A (low) FORT WAYNE (56-72, 26-33): LAKE COUNTY 8, TinCaps 7 – DH Fernando Perez (.289) and 1B Jake Bauers (.298) each hit a two-run homer for Fort Wayne. CF Ronnie Richardson (.279) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Starting LHP Jeff Enloe (4-6. 4.64 ERA) allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts in four innings. RHP Justin Livengood (3.43) gave up two unearned runs on three hits with two strikeouts in two innings. RHP Nick Mutz (2.42) allowed two hits and a walk with a strikeout in a scoreless inning. RHP Jason Jester (2.33) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
SINGLE-A (short season) EUGENE (28-38, 13-15): Emeralds 8, Everett 4 – RF Nick Torres (.252) was 3-for-5 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored. 1B Marcus Davis (.342) was 3-for-4 with two doubles. 3B-SS Felipe Blanco (.172) had two doubles with a RBI and two runs scored in three at-bats. 2B Jalen Goree (.217) was 2-for-5. Starting RHP Logan Jernigan (5.59 ERA) allowed one run on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts in four innings. RHP Wilson Santos (3-2, 2.70) allowed a hit with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings.
ARIZONA ROOKIE PADRES (16-33, 8-13): Padres 8, RANGERS 1 (five innings, rain) – LF Rod Boykin (.275) was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. 3B Luis Urias (.303) was 3-for-3 with a RBI and three runs scored. 1B Jonas Lantigua (.210) was 2-for-2 with a RBI. CF Michael Gettys (.323) hit a two-run double. Starting LHP Alexander Constanza (2-3, 4.75 ERA) allowed a run on two hits with three walks and five strikeouts in four innings. RHP Josh Richardson allowed a walk with a strikeout in a hitless inning.
DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (17-53): ORIOLES 3, Padres 2 – 3B Derwin Pomare (.211) had the Padres only hit. Starting LHP Joel Garcia (0-3, 6.00) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in four innings. RHP Eduardo Solano (3.38) gave up two hits with four strikeouts over three scoreless innings. RHP Diomar Lopez (2.30) pitched a perfect inning.
